Friday in Holy Week

Friday in Holy Week

In preparation for Easter, we want to be faithful to remember and meditate on each day of holy week as we prepare our hearts to worship and celebrate all that God has done for us through Jesus’ death and resurrection.  Using Trinity Presbyterian Church’s Holy Week Worship Guide, each day we’ll post the passages that correspond with what took place in Jesus’ life on that particular day during his last week.  Along with the passages will be a short reflective prayer and a devotional.  Our hope is that these posts will serve as a guide for you in preparing your heart for worship and wonder of the Savior!

Friday in Holy Week

What happens on this day, Good Friday:

Jesus’ crucifixion and death: Matthew 27:27-56; Mark 15:16-41; Luke 23:26-49; John 19:17-30

Jesus burial: Matthew 27:27-56; Mark 15:16-41; Luke 23:26-49; John 19:17-30

Prayer to internalize and make your own:

Go lay down. Cover your eyes with your hands. Then pray ‘He died for me’. Don;t get up until you know Christ loves you and died for your sins. Accept this fact deeply and put deeper faith in Him who loves you and less in the world and everything else.

We are stopping here for the week, please check the below guide for more and enjoy Easter in your local Church. He rose from the dead, conquearing sin, death and the devil setting us free!
