Holy Week: Monday
In preparation for Easter, we want to be faithful to remember and meditate on each day of holy week as we prepare our hearts to worship and celebrate all that God has done for us through Jesus’ death and resurrection. Using Trinity Presbyterian Church’s Holy Week Worship Guide, each day we’ll post the passages that correspond with what took place in Jesus’ life on that particular day during his last week. Along with the passages will be a short reflective prayer and a devotional. Our hope is that these posts will serve as a guide for you in preparing your heart for worship and wonder of the Savior!
Monday in Holy Week
What happens on this day:
Jesus curses the fig tree. Matthew 21:18-19, Mark 11:12-14
Jesus cleans the temple. Mt. 21:12-13; Mk. 11:15-18
Prayer to Internalize and make your own
Almighty God, whose most dear Son went up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the cross may find it none other than the way of life: Grant us so to boast in the cross of Christ, that we may galdy suffer shame and loss for the sake of your Son our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
